Bio: In September 2004, Bill joined the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation as Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the overall operation and strategic direction of the Foundation. Bill comes to the Foundation after a 31-year career with the Walt Disney Company, having worked in the Parks and Resorts division with assignments in Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Resort in Paris. He was a member of the executive team that managed the $2 billion dollar expansion of the Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Bill has a broad background in marketing, communications, planning and development and external relations. He is a chairman emeritus of the Orange County Business Council. He served on numerous nonprofit boards throughout California such as the California Golden State Museum, Children’s Hospital Orange County and Cypress College Foundation. He is a strong advocate of education and completed his undergraduate and graduate degree at California State University Fullerton. In 1989 he was recognized as a distinguished alumnus. Prior to his business career he lectured at California State University, Fullerton for five years.
Bio: Mary began her career with the Foundation in 2003 as Administrative Assistant to then CEO, Karen Chin. In 2004 she was promoted to Manager of Programs & Administration and in 2007 to Director of Programs & Administration.
Mary has over 20 years of nonprofit management & administration experience and has completed 3 years of college-level studies, with focus in science, sociology and education. Prior to joining the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, she worked for the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, and served as their as CEO & Executive Director for the last 6.5 years of her tenure. She is a published editor/author of multiple wildlife journals, manuscripts and short piece articles, and has an extensive background in conference, meeting and event planning. She currently serves on the boards of two nonprofit organizations, where she also volunteers her grant writing skills.
One of two girls in a family of eleven children, Mary spent a majority of her formative years in Tampa, Florida, but has lived most of her adult life in Northern California. She is the proud mother of one son, Christian, who resides in Southern California and is an Electrical Engineering graduate of UCLA. In her spare time Mary enjoys walking her dog Simba, bicycling, working out in her home gym, listening to music, and dancing. She loves spending time at the ocean and has a passion for animals of all kinds.

Bio: Betsy assumed the leadership role as Executive Director for the New York Division in August 2008. She has been a senior executive in both for-profit companies and non-profit organizations for over 25 years. Her background includes experience in technology, medical education and management consulting – including process improvement consulting in the insurance industry. She brings to the Foundation substantial experience in leadership, fundraising, and organizational growth.
Prior to coming to IICF, Betsy served as the CEO of the World Lung Foundation. Betsy also served in two roles simultaneously--as Vice President of Patient and Professional Services and Chief Technology Officer--at the national headquarters of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). During her tenure, both of hese organizattions more than doubled thier revenues. In addition to her fundraising and operations capabilities, Betsy also has a strong advocacy, communications, and education background.
Betsy loves working in New York City but is also active in her community in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey – serving on the board of a local nonprofit and as a trustee of the endowment of her church.
MELISSA-ANNE DUNCAN
Director of Development & Partner Relations Phone: 818-241-1153 Bio: Melissa-Anne joined the Foundation in January 2010. Since receiving her Master of the Arts Degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 2008, Melissa has focused her career in the realm of nonprofit organizations. With a strong background in event operations and volunteer coordination, Melissa has worked with various nonprofits ranging from start-up philanthropic business ventures to established organizations, such as AIDS Walk, Los Angeles.
Additionally, Melissa-Anne has a great passion for youth development through the areas of athletics and drama, having benefited from such experiences herself. As a result, she is an active volunteer with Crystal High School athletic and theater programs.
