PLEASE NOTE:
You must be recommended for consideration by a Foundation board/staff member/donor organization to be considered for a grant.
The Foundation does not consider nor evaluate unsolicited grant requests at any of our granting levels.
The Following Grant Guidelines are provided for those agencies already recommended for consideration. Western Division Grants are organized into four levels. Our Community Grants Program serves as our most visible community outreach effort.
Level I Grants - Donor Advised Grants: Donor Advised Grants are Grants provided and directed through the Foundation by an insurance Company/Foundation or other organizations or individual trusts. If a donor is already participating with the Foundation, 100% of their grants are processed and awarded by the Foundation. Donor Advised Grants are welcomed anytime throughout the year and are normally processed within two weeks of receiving the grant.
Level II Grants – Foundation Community Grants Program: The Community Grants Program is an annual program. Proposed agencies are referred by board members/organization during the first six months of the year (January – June). The second half of the year the Foundation completes an analysis of each agency and organizes grant requests for review and recommendation by the Grants Committee. Agencies are notified in November/December concerning the results of their request and grant awards are distributed in the first quarter of the New Year. You must be invited to apply to the Community Grants Program by the Foundation. Note:We do not consider nor evaluate unsolicited grant requests.
Level III Grants – Visionary Grants: Visionary Grants are determined and awarded by the Western Division Board of Directors based upon a long-standing relationship with an agency. The Visionary Grant is awarded to agencies that through their dedication and commitment provide superior service in a specific area or a critical community need. Visionary Grants are recommended and evaluated annually.
Level IV Grants – Special Grants: Throughout the year Special Grants may be determined and awarded based upon unique public/community needs, natural disasters, or other critical community issues. The timeline for these grants is determined by the Board of Directors. Special grants may be awarded in conjunction with a Foundation fundraising program.
