VOLUNTEER SERVICE

One of the most effective ways for a business or industry to be positively perceived by the clients they serve is for all levels of employees to have hands-on involvement in their local communities. The clearest benefit of employee volunteerism is providing critical support to charitable organizations that have limited staff and resources. Additional outcomes for the participating companies and employee volunteers include leadership development, improved morale in the workplace, networking opportunities, and enhanced brand recognition.

IICF WEEK OF GIVING (Formerly Volunteer Week)

IICF Week of Giving is the Foundation's most visible program that allows the insurance industry to take a leadership role in community involvement. This program provides a unique opportunity for teams of insurance industry leaders, employees, family members, and strategic partners to take part in service projects that benefit nonprofit agencies right in their own communities.

Each year the Foundation brings together volunteers from the insurance industry with community charities. This week-long effort provides thousands of hours of much needed volunteer service to local community nonprofits.

Since 1998, the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation has hosted Volunteer Week (now IICF Week of Giving) the largest ongoing volunteer initiative in the insurance industry. In each participating region across the west, hundreds of insurance employees donate upwards of 12,000 service hours in single week each year.

The Foundation makes it simple -- teams of insurance employees, their family members and industry partners are matched with charitable agencies in their local communities to provide three or more hours of service during a concentrated week. By combining their time and talents, IICF Week of Giving participants make a greater impact than working alone and inspire collaborative goodwill across the industry. Our industry-wide effort is truly helping communities and enriching lives!

COMPANY SPONSORED VOLUNTEERISM

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation also serves as a partner to companies that host their own volunteer programs. The Foundation strives to collect and report on the industry’s combined volunteerism, as well as provides connections with local charities and service projects in regions across the country.

If your company hosts volunteer events throughout the year and would like your company's statistics to be reported on behalf of the industry, please send information about the event to Mary Reynolds at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
