The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) helps communities and enriches lives by combining the collective strengths of the industry to provide grants, volunteer service and leadership.
The IICF Midwest Division kicked off their volunteer efforts with a one-day effort during the 2012 IICF Volunteer Week (now Week of Giving). Nearly 250 insurance employees (from 11 companies) collected over 3,000 pounds of trash on Chicago area beaches, 20 dedicated team members served meals to families at three local Ronald McDonald Houses and over a 120 volunteers in the Kansas City area packaged food for the local Harvesters food bank, cleaned up debris in Joplin, MO and helped paint and clean a local nonprofit organization in Kansas City. In total, the IICF Midwest Division volunteers contributed over 1,500 hours of service in just one day!
Plans are already underway for 2013 IICF Week of Giving volunteer projects, October 12-19, 2013. Visit the Week of Giving – Volunteer section of the website to learn more.
