Volunteer Week
Volunteer Week is our most visible program that allows the insurance industry to take a leadership role in community involvement. The program provides a unique opportunity for teams of insurance industry leaders, employees, family members, and strategic partners to take part in service projects that benefit nonprofit agencies right in their own communities. The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation works as a liaison to match each volunteer team with the greatest needs of their local communities and nonprofit agencies.
Since 2001, Volunteer Week has generated over 60,000 hours of service throughout the state of California. Last year alone, over 2,000 insurance industry representatives from across the state donated over 12,000 hours in one week through this program. However, the greatest accomplishments are not quantifiable. They are the hot meals, warm beds and comforted hearts that have allowed someone to survive another day and grasp a future filled with hope.
Volunteer Week projects are usually scheduled in half-day increments during weekdays and weekends.
VOLUNTEER WEEK 2008
The 2008 program runs from Saturday, October 18 through Saturday, October 25, 2008.
The Foundation would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of Volunteer Week 2007. Their community spirit and involvement help us to fulfill our mission, Helping Communities and Enriching Lives, Together!
