Phoenix, AZ (October 8, 2013) –The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Arizona Chapter helps unite the industry to provide a grant of $10,000 to benefit the families of the fallen Yarnell fire fighters. Marking a collective industry effort, 100% of the funds raised will directly support the families affected by the Yarnell fire through the grant to the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association.
Helping to lead the charge rallying the insurance industry was IICF Arizona Chapter board member Marc Adler, Senior Vice President, AmWINS Brokerage of Arizona. “The Yarnell fire was served as a poignant reminder of the dangers first responders daily face. The members of the Arizona insurance community are deeply grateful for the commitment, courage and sacrifice of our dedicated fire fighters. We are proud to honor their memory and help support the families of those affected.”
The IICF Arizona Directed Grant was made possible through the leadership and contributions of AIG, AmWINS Brokerage of Arizona, Chubb, Colony Specialty, James River Insurance, Markel and Meridian Financial Holdings.
“This grant is a powerful illustration of the deep philanthropic community commitment of the insurance industry here in Arizona,” remarked Ken Kirk, CEO of Meridian Financial Holdings. Kirk who serves as the Chair of the IICF Arizona Chapter continued, “It is remarkable what can be achieved when the industry comes together to insight change.”
