Southeast Division Announces new Executive Director and Launches New Chapter
Southeast may be the newest IICF division, but a division that has already made a philanthropic mark on the communities it serves. Established in 2012, the division focuses grant making in the areas of Children, Education, and Veterans issues, contributing $ 601,833 to local, community-based nonprofits. Moving into its third operating year, the Southeast Division continues its community work while also adding some exciting new initiatives.
Guiding the efforts in the south is Sarah Conway, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Southeast Division. Conway joins the IICF with a wealth of experience in nonprofit organization management. Most recently, Conway served as a development officer with the Children's Medical Center of Dallas, one of the largest not-for-profit pediatric healthcare systems in the country.
In her role with IICF, Conway will be responsible for leading the IICF's charitable and philanthropic initiatives in the region, which include the local nonprofit grant programs as well as the running of the Division's annual slate of fundraising, volunteer, and networking events.
Alongside the new IICF leadership, the division continues to expand the reach of IICF throughout the region. July marked the launch of the division's first chapter based in Atlanta, Georgia. The IICF Georgia Chapter will work alongside the Southeast Division Board of Directors to extend the IICF mission and programs throughout Georgia.
Lead by Scott Dalton, Senior Vice President &?Southeast Regional Branch Manager of Chubb Group as Chapter Board Chair and Joe Hamilton, Executive Vice President of Wells Fargo Insurance Services as Vice Chair, the inaugural board will be guided by senior industry leaders representing AmTrust, BB&T, Chubb Group, The Hartford, Ironwood, J Smith Lanier & Company, The McCart Group, Palmer & Cay, Pritchard Jerden, Reagan Consulting and Wells Fargo Insurance Services.
Within Texas, groundwork has also been laid for the establishment of the Southeast Division Associate Board. Marking the fourth Associate Board across the country, the Southeast Associate Board will provide an opportunity for a new generation of industry professionals an opportunity to meaningfully engage with the Foundation. To date, twenty-one members have been appointed. The group's first board meeting will take place September 17, 2014.
To top off the many exciting initiatives underway in the Southeast Division, President George W. Bush will be the featured speaker at the 3rd annual Lone Star Legends Benefit Dinner. The February 5, 2015 dinner will be a sell-out crowd and an impressive Southeast style affair.
It is an exciting time in the south, a new chapter, a new associate board and new initiatives on the horizon. Thanks to the dedication and leadership of the division board and the support of board member companies, the Southeast Division continues to grow and make its philanthropic mark.

IICF Premiers WICS Highlights
The Women in Insurance Conference Series (WICS) brought together over 1300 attendees to explore the concept of gender diversity within the insurance industry. The four regional, one-day forums delved into the role of the individual, the organization, and the industry in achieving greater success. Although each forum provided unique dialog, the themes of gender diversity, leadership, innovation, and the male perspective were explored across the nation.
